me

here. i'm well. had a good week. got a good portion of the set done this week. there are about four major platforms for people to walk on, and this week we got three of them done. now, they aren't painted, but they are built and they basically need detail work done, and that is that. they are structurally sound and all that. next week we'll work on the forth and other smaller things for the set.

in philosophy land we are still filming. i'm editing a little, trying to get a feel for the style that i'm going to have. still unsure how to edit it, but it will come.

jasmine is coming to sioux center this weekend, and through memorial day now, she found out today that she got it off, she wasn't going to have it off i guess. we are going to cook for a bunch of our friends on saturday, i'm looking forward to that.

i'm feeling well. occasionally i still get a bit of a sore throat, but other than that, all is well.

ypepepy.

saturday in the park

ok, so i wasn't in a park today, but i was in the downtown of sioux falls. which i must say, is pretty cool. a lot of nifty shops and whatknot. i never knew there was such cool stuff so close. it's like a real down town. we spend quite a bit of time in ten thousand villages, it was fair trade day, so we got 25% off the most expensive item. jasmine bought a cool candleabra as a shower gift. i bought some incense and a hackeysack. we then went on the trolley, which was kinda funny because it was all touristy--in sioux falls. we then went to a place downtown to eat, food n fermentation. it was quite tasty. i had a turkey sandwhich that had cranberry sauce on it, it was really good. i also had a moose drool with lunch, beer from missoula montana that my friends have raved about. i must say it was quite good. very smooth and tasty. i would reccommend it. we then returned to jasmine's. took a nap, and then she had to go to the play. so now i'm here. watching television. oh the television.

i really like hot and spicy cheezits. hmmm. good.

the tv just told me to not miss a minute, or i'll miss a twist.

i've been thinking about rewriting me screenplay. it definately needs it, but it needs more direction first. i need to decide if it's going to be a romance, or a chase movie or a scientific discovery type movie. i'm leaning towards a chase type movie. where he can do the walk through walls thing but she can't, and they are running from someone. i need someone believable and not "those stinking russians" or something cliche.

i'm kinda watching csi ny right now, and they have showed a couple times now how people broke into places by drilling a hole the size of an umbrella below the push open the door bar, and then put the umbrella through the hole open it and pull--the door opens. i wonder if that works. i also wonder if people are going to try that now, now that it was on the television. we can learn so much. how to break and enter. just watch tv.

over and out.

weekend

so i spent the weekend with jasmine. that was awesome. yesterday was my favorite. we went to church, hung out with her friends from church, went to the olive garden, went to downtown sioux falls, which is sort of non-existent on a sunday, but we went to this variety shop that was awesome. they had everything i liked. weird quirky cards, incense, journals, books, books, and more books. it was cool. kinda expensive, but really cool.

i purchased two albums this weekend as well. the arcade fire - funeral and the polyphonic spree - i don't remember the album title. jasmine keeps calling the polyphonic spree cultish. i really can't disagree. they are very cult like.

i went to the play, "The Boys Next Door" last night. it was my second time. the first was on monday of last week. it was a rehearsal then, this was a performance with an audience. albiet a sunday audience in SF, but still an audience--they weren't very responsive or very large. i am still unsure of the play. i don't like it. and i'm trying to decide if it is bad writing or bad directing/acting. i feel like for community theatre the acting was okay. the directing seems okay too. i really think it's just poorly written. no main character/too many main characters. so yea, i've been thinking about that off and on quite a bit.

i start some sort of working today. i'm meeting with henderson to talk about what we are doing with these videos he wants to make. sometime i have to get in touch with jim and hammer out what i'm all doing for him as well. hammer. ha. i'm going to be building the set with him...hammer. hahah.

i'm doing really well. still a little sick...not 100% yet, but feeling pretty good. i'm anxious to get going on some projects.

no real jobs

i don't have any real, like 9-5 type job for this summer. rather, i have three sort of fake jobs. they aren't fake at all, but rather they are nontraditional. one is making supplemental philosophy 201 videos for taz and henderson. one is filming different jubilee events. and one is building the set for the jubilee show, purpelanie. i don't know if i spelled that right. who knows what else might pop up. it's been all good though. i won't have to do stuff i don't like. the pay won't be spectacular, but it will be something. and i should have many oppurtunities to save.

well. today brings the grandparents and parents on a trip towards sioux city. what excitement! we will explore lewis and clark something or another thing. and then go out to eat. good times expected.

sick

kinda got sick today. it was frustrating. because i was visiting jasmine in sioux falls, and i really couldn't do anything, because i was sick. so i slept a lot, and then slept some more. i did go and watch the play that she is doing lights for this week last night. it was ok. really slow moving. i was pretty bored actually. the premise was interesting. it follows fours guys who are mentally challenged in a group home. i couldn't tell if the directing/acting was bad, or if the writing was just bad. i think the acting was a little lacking--pretty slow. mind you i did see a rehearsal, but it felt really long. some of the actors were fun to watch and listen to, but some were the kind of hard to watch, the kind when you feel bad for them or embarassed because they don't exactly know their lines. i get the feeling that the play will be better when they get the kinks worked out for actual performances, but in general it was lacking for me. nothing really profound in the writing or execution.

i don't think i've realized that i'm staying here for the summer. it feels like i'm on vacation. a small time away, before i start working again. but it does look like i'll be able to do some film/video work for a good portion of the summer. not really fiction stuff, more class and dordt stuff, either way i'll beable to use a camera and edit, which is what i like to do.

well, that's what i'm up to, and what i have pending.
