the desert is dark. there are two bodies sleeping on the sand. jack looks at them, looks up to the sky, puts his hand to his scragly beard. suddenly the surroundings change and he is in a luscious townhouse. an older man in a robe sits watching his fireplace. jack slowly walks inbetween the man and his fire--the man looks right through jack. the man picks up a cloth bag and reveals a syringe. the surroundings change again, now jack is in a cheap motel room. two men, in suits sit looking at each other. they are talking, but jack can't hear them. the surroundings change again, he's back in the town house. it's morning, the man seems to have fallen asleep in his chair. something is odd about how he's sitting.

jack gets up from the computer, his eyes are glazed. he walks into the kitchen, pours a glass of water, drinks it all in one gulp. tired, he walks into the bedroom and falls asleep on his bed.
