today was my first day working at extra large technologies. i never looked to see if they have a website. i might do that now.
they do. how nice. you'll never guess what i'm working on. before i left someone asked me, i can't remember who, i wish i could, "so, if you are offered a job working for some reality tv show, you'll take it?" and i answered "probably. i know a guy working for elimidate, that would be the worst i think." well, it's not reality tv. i'm thankful for that. but it is an interactive dvd of the popular BRATZ dolls. that's right kids. i'm working on turning bratz into another dvd your nine year old will truely appreciate. it's actually kindof a cool concept. it's an intereactive dvd. so the kids pick which character they want to watch, and then which story they want to do. it's something they can watch over and over again--seeing different things each time. it's pretty cool. i mean, i can't say that i'm excited to be making films about BRATZ, but it is cool to work with 3d animation--where if you want a new angle, you just ask the director for it, and the next day you have it. i got to cut a segment today--a first pass type thing. it was pretty cool. mostly i'm going to be getting things ready for the DVD authoring house. adding loops at the end of segments and things like that--making things ready to be interactive.
all in all today was a really good day. i went to another interview (two down, two to go.) i don't really need the work with this company--they do music videos mostly, but it was nice to go there meet the people, and see what they do.
i meet at arclight cinemas on thursday, i'm hoping for a part time job there, the pay isn't great, but it would be extra work, so the pay isn't as important, and i get to see free movies again. i like free movies.
in other news, we're designing the wedding invitations. that has become my day job...so to say...while work nights for a while.
it felt really good to work again--espcially on final cut. mmm. i like editing.

free movies in LA is even better than being paid, right? i mean you will literally be saving millions of dollars a month.
