the last day of the week is saturday

this week included the following activities.

going to see imogen heap and zoe k in concert at the glass house in panoma ca. the show started about two hours later than it was supposed to, but nevertheless, it was fantastic.

taking herman to the beach again. this time we let him off the leash like everone else at the beach. it was fun, and he didn't run away.

laughing at herman. i like this dog, especially because he's funny. he'll play fetch up until the point that he has to give it back to you (jasmine and i haven't had a dog between us that actually fetched and gave it back) and this morning he ran into our room, and would come out with his soft ball and just look at me like, youre not taking this away, and just growl, while i'm on the couch, not even moving. then he set it down, but kept his eyes on me to make sure i wouldn't take it. next thing i know he's running to me to sit by me on the couch, totally forgeting the whole ball thing.

watching prison break on television. we don't watch any other shows really. i mean, besides jeopardy. i like it, even though it's taking a long time to break that prison, i still find it enjoyable.

watching donnie darko. we watched this movie last night. i like it. i bought it last week some time. this was jasmine's first time.

working. i worked a fair number of hours this week. it's still not 1.5 jobs, it's more like 1.1 jobs.

i've been thinking a lot about how to write a good villian/bad guy. i do not want it to be a cliche, but almost everything i think of is, the mafia, or the russians, or some other stereotypical bad people that are in every other movie. and then i think about making one of the "good" people turn bad, but i can't come up with a believable way for that transition to happen. so, to sumise, i haven't been writing, but i have been thinking about it, really.

Okay, so I've never written a movie... so this is probably worthless rambling. Anyhow... my favorite is when there are a really not exactly good guys or bad guys.... or like you said...when they switch... but i think it's best when you really never can say who the good guys and the bad guys are.

There are the many obvious movies where you're going for the bad guy and the cops or whoever are the bad guys

then there's the whole traitor idea... I don't care what anybody says... Star Wars episode III, although it had it's flaws, was a good frickin movie... I really appreciated the struggle of good & evil and the power of deception in this one

But then my favorites will always be the Clint Eastwood movies...he's my no means a good guy... he's a killer... and yet you're always going for him cuz he's so frickin' cool. (The good, the bad, and the ugly; The Unforgiven; etc)

just my thoughts

is prision break really all that good. i only have laughed at its overly dramatic scenes when it would take over my former arrested development time with an all night marathon. grrr! as for the bad guy thing, bryce and i were just having a similar conversation about the characters in grey's anatomy because we hate everyone so much, yet we like the show. and we realized that every character in that show has such huge character flaws and yet they are all potrayed as very nobel people. so in a sense they are all villans. but in real life we are all that way. we all think we are better than we are so we are all villans in some way. so despite the totaly off the wall scenerios in grey's atanomy, the characters are probably the closest we have to being real. so any normal person can be a villan.

i have found "Way of the Gun" to be an excellent example of the good/bad guys. it also happens to star benicio del toro and ryan phillipe.
